What Happens During An Exam
The examiner will ask you to play a selection of scales and chords appropriate to your grade. The examiner will show yu a chord char and ask you to play a rhythm to it. Next, the examiner will show you another chord chart and he will play it once. Then you have to pick the correct scale and improvise using that scale.
Reading standard notation is an important part of the knowledge of music. Therefore, you will be asked to play two songs (no memorizing required) from the list of songs. After, the examiner will ask you questions regarding standard notation.
Next, the examiner will ask you to play one, of your own choice, songs. You can play along with a CD and read your sheet music (chords, tabs, notes).
Finally, the exam will conclude with Aural questions on ear training and some knowledge of influential guitar players.
